YMCA and COVID - We're Keeping You SAFE!

Updated May 27, 2021

NEW MASK/FACIAL COVERING POLICY

  • If you are fully vaccinated you have the option of not wearing a facial covering.
  • If you are NOT fully vaccinated you must continue to wear a facial covering at all times in the facility and social distance of at least six feet.
  • Members/guests under the age of 12, will be asked to wear a facial covering inside the facility (under 2 years of age does not require a mask per CDC/State guidelines).
  • There may be times that it may be required to wear a facial covering, even if vaccinated, in the facility, such as if our childcare programs are in certain areas. Staff will inform members if this takes place.
  • All members must continue to adhere to temperature checks and answer COVID-19 questions at check in.
  • We ask that visitors and Y members demonstrate the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility towards each other and our staff.

  • Per State mandate, members will be required to answer health screening questions and have their temperature checked, and wear a mask before entering the facility. Staff will be doing the same.
  • You must complete a new member waiver of liability upon your first visit (or prior) to the Y.
  • Per State mandate, our facility is operating at a 50% capacity restriction. Some areas, such as the Kontes Pool, require an appointment for a lane reservation to utilize the area. Our Milam Family Multipurpose Center and Child Watch areas also require appointments. We recommend appointments for the Fitness Center.
  • UPDATED - Active members, ages 16+ are permitted to use the Y at this time. Youth ages 8-15 years old may utilize the facility at any time with a parent or guardian from the same household, on the same family membership. There are also designated "Teen Times" for 13-15 year olds to come to the Y without a parent. Youth of all ages are permitted to participate in any program available for their age group.
  • We ask that all members wipe down equipment both before and after equipment use with the materials provided. Our staff are also cleaning equipment throughout the day.
  • No guests or Nationwide Members are permitted at this time.
  • We ask that those who feel unwell to please stay home.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation. Please be patient as we work to comply with the State and City Health Departments.

Although our Y is always diligent about cleaning, we have increased all cleaning measures throughout the entire facility.

  • All high-touch areas, including doorknobs/handles, counters, phones, and more are disinfected every 2-3 hours.
  • Our Y has purchased two hydrostatic sprayers, on back-pack for large areas and one handheld for small areas, to disinfect throughout the day, or overnight, in all areas.
  • All chemicals used to clean and disinfect area EPA registered.
  • Air filters have been upgraded at the recommendation of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) and the EPA, to MERV-13 filters.
  • All members are required to wear a facial covering (not a facial shield) in the facility
  • Locker rooms are now open. We still encourage members to bring only what they need, as we have a limited number of lockers opened in an effort to promote social distancing in the locker rooms. If all lockers are being utilized, members will have to bring their items with them and place in a designated area on the pool deck, or in a cubby in the Health & Adventure Center.
  • We recommend bringing a filled water bottle with lid, only on bottle fill station is open at this time (by the Fitness Centers). All other water fountains remain closed.

Our Y reopened July 1, 2020 when permitted to run day camp, open our indoor pool, offer outdoor Group Exercise classes, outdoor youth sports and indoor one-on-one personal training.

Our Y reopened fully (with our fitness centers) on September 1, 2020.

During our full closure, no memberships were charged. Once our Y fully reopened in September, we notified all members via e-newsletter and a mailed letter to the address on file, that we would begin drafting memberships again in October. Members were able to place their membership on hold for an additional 30 days, cancel, or opt to return to the Y. Octobers draft was as a prorated rate. November all memberships were drafted, unless you requested a hold or cancellation, at their full rate.

Our Y has been working with our community the entire time we were closed offering virtual engagement options, food programs, and more. Your membership with the Y does so much more than give you a place to workout. Your membership supports our community through various programs and initiatives helping those in need. Click HERE to learn more about the Y's impact during COVID.

If you have not come back to the Y yet, stop in today! You will see first hand our diligence in cleaning, social distancing, and keeping all our members and staff safe.

Should you need to request a hold, or would like to cancel, please contact support@ccaymca.org and you will receive a response within 24 hours. For more questions regarding membership, please contact Director, Donna, at docasio@ccaymca.org or Member Services Administrator, Rhonda, at msadmin@ccaymca.org

We thank you in advance for your commitment to the Y!
