May is High Blood Pressure Education Month, a time to focus on improving cardiovascular health, as well as on hypertension and stroke prevention. While high blood pressure and heart disease are serious conditions, the good news is a healthy heart is achievable through lifestyle changes such as lowering sodium intake, eating healthier, and getting more physical activity. Blood pressure guidelines from American Heart Association indicate that nearly half of all Americans (46 percent) have high blood pressure.
The YMCA’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program is designed to help adults with hypertension lower and manage their blood pressure. Learn more about the program by clicking HERE.
