Camp Hiawatha is the coolest place to be this summer!

We are gearing up for an awesome 2025 Summer Camp!

GET READY FOR A GREAT SUMMER - June 16 - August 25

Our Camp Hiawatha consists of a balanced day of enriching childhood skills and fun through activities such as outdoor play, water games, arts & crafts, and science activities.

Register for a week or all summer long. Summer camp is where your child can make new friends, learn and discover, get creative and have fun trying new things in a safe and nurturing environment!

  • YMCA Camp Hiawatha is open to all children ages 6 to 8 years old and is held at the YMCA; the day is 9:00 am-4:00 pm with early and after care options available from 6:30 am-5:30 pm
  • A variety of activities will be provided throughout the camp season which consist of outdoor games, weekly safe swim instruction in our indoor pool, outdoor water play, reading time, bike and scooter riding, non-elimination games through the CATCH curriculum, as well as traditional day camp arts & crafts.
  • Healthy Breakfast and Lunch served to all campers
  • Spikeball: Spikeball is a new sport that's sweeping the nation. It is described as a combination of volleyball and four-square. It is played 2 vs 2, with a taut hula hoop sized Spikeball net placed between the teams.  They have up to three hits between them (just like Volleyball) to control the ball and bounce it back off the net.
  • Scooters for outdoor riding
  • YMCA Let's Play Outdoor Fun Zone
  • Spray and Play Zone
  • Swimming in our indoor pool, including safe swim instruction and recreational swim time
  • Structured youth fitness workouts in our Family Health and Adventure Center with our Ninja Course and Rock Climbing wall.
  • Foot Golf (Golf with a soccer ball!) & Volleyball
  • Sports including soccer and basketball
  • Field Games such as relay races and obstacle courses
  • Gaga - the coolest summer camp game. It is a friendlier version of dodgeball that uses the backboards of the gaga pit to tag an opponent
  • Reading Time - intentional programming time for children to complete their summer reading.
  • Water Games including water sprinklers and water games
  • Bike riding – learn to ride or take a spin on our camp bikes!
  • Fun and educational STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities
  • Healthy U Activities and Games that teach healthy eating and physical activity through fun non-elimination games.
  • Arts and Crafts focusing on fine motor skill development and creativity
  • Sanford Harmony Social and Emotional Learning activities for children to learn how to express their emotions
  • Weekly camp themes include learning about space, multicultural celebrations, animals, fitness fun, and more.
